Size 10 needles (or any size that gives you the desired fabric)

Not important. It’s a scarf. Use any yarn, any needle you choose.

The seed stitch border can be as wide as you want. I did 10 stitches in the scarf for Andrea.
** An easy tip for seed stitch:
Remember that in seed stitch, on the following row, you knit the purls and purl the knits.
There are rows of stockinette in between each heart motif. I did 4 rows of stockinette following
the last row of the heart motif, beginning with a knit row (RS) and ending with a purl row (WS). Pattern
Cast on 39 stitches. (10 stitches each for left and right border, 19 stitches for center panel)
Stockinette Stitch Section
Begin knitting with 4 rows of stockinette stitch bordered by seed stitch.
Row 1 (RS) - (K1, P1)5x, K19, (P1, K1)5x
Row 2 (WS) - (K1, P1)5x, P19, (P1, K1)5x
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 once more.
Heart Motif Section
Begin heart motif (in bold) continuing with seed stitch border.
